Welcome to The Flathead Lake Nanny! I am an International Nanny Association Credentialed Nanny with many years of professional experience as well as a labor and postpartum doula. This page is a place to celebrate the joys of being a childcare provider with members of the community.
In 2025, The Flathead Lake Nanny will become a community-building initiative to organize play dates, professional growth, and mentorship to childcare providers in the Flathead Valley.
About Me.
Hello friends! My name is Carly Schutte and I am a recent transplant from Cincinnati, OH. I know Montanans tend to be weary of new folks, but I am hoping to create a positive impact on the community. Childcare can be a very solitary line of work. My goal is to build a community for childcare providers in the Flathead Valley that will enable us to find support and growth as professionals.

In addition to being an International Nanny Association Credentialed Nanny and a labor and postpartum doula, I have had a career as a museum educator and am one of the "OG Eight" at Adventure Nannies' Nanny Camp. I plan to utilize my connections to elevate local care providers' experiences and increase the professional standing of nannies in the region. There is so much we can accomplish together as a community!

Gentle Seed Doulas
In 2024, I completed a professional mentorship with Gentle Seed Doulas to expand my services to include postpartum support. I specialize in multiples and medically complex babies.
2023
Certified Labor Doula
CAPPA
In 2023, I became a Certified Labor Doula with CAPPA, one of the oldest and most respected organizations in the perinatal field. I have supported many birth plans including home births, water births, medicated hospital births, and unmedicated hospital births.

Credentialed Nanny
International Nanny Association
In 2023, I passed the International Nanny Association's Credential Exam to become a Credentialed Nanny. This credential speaks to my professionalism and knowledge of the childcare industry.

B.A. in Anthropology
Northern Kentucky University
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northern Kentucky University in 2019. My degree is in Anthropology with minors in Evolutionary Studies and Ancient Civilizations. During my time at NKU, I was awarded Outstanding Student in Evolutionary Studies and an Award for Academic Excellence in Anthropology. I was also the president of the Student Anthropology Society.
